Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation

Since 1991, Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation (METF) has been dedicated to creating opportunities and driving positive change for Thai society. For over three decades, we’ve empowered university engineering students through scholarships—because we believe education is the foundation for innovation and progress. Our commitment goes beyond education. Guided by the principle of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to “Leave no one behind,” we actively support initiatives that respond to social needs, focusing on:

  • Environment – Promoting sustainability for a greener future.

Environmental Conservation

Volunteer Activity

METF in collaboration with 11 Mitsubishi Electric Group companies in Thailand, has been contributing to environmental preservation through volunteer activity with all group companies’ employees, unite to participate at the annual tree planting event under the “Community Forest Partnership for Climate Action Project”. On 14 June 2025, more than 500 employee volunteers of Mitsubishi Electric group in Thailand has gathered at Kaeng Khoi District in Saraburi Province for planting trees with local community. Our employees take pride in engaging to support the community for appropriately utilize benefit from community forest as well as encouraging the community to help conserve natural resources—beneficial to social, economic and environment.

Community Water Management Project

Back in 1995, Thailand experienced flood crisis, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s initiation on the integration of water information which required technology resources. Various sectors involvement and community engagement is crucial for self-sustainability. METF contribution to Community Water Management Project is beneficial for community’s water reservation during drought period for agricultural purposes and flooding countermeasures as well. The project aims for self-sustainability by community to manage their own area based on local wisdom and geographical characteristic of each area with 4 guidelines– finding water source (water data management), reserving water for daily household and agricultural usage, using and managing water efficiently. Community is capable for adjusting to change of environment for sustainable production and income generation for the whole year and extend their success as model community to support capability building to other community for sustainable development. 

On 15 January 2026, METF received the Award from Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn for the contribution to Utokapat Foundation for the community water management project.

Educational Support (Development of next generation)

Scholarship Program

Scholarship Program started in 1993 for underprivileged engineering students at Chulalongkorn, Kasetsart and Thammasat University and in 2012, extended to Chiang Mai University. King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) has been added in 2024 program and in 2025 Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation began awarding scholarships to King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok and King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi for the development of science and technology human resources in Thailand. Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation has been granting scholarship donation to engineering students for 33 years and Scholarship students will have a chance for internship at Mitsubishi Electric group companies to gain onsite experience. The scholarship aim to support the development of engineering students through donations to empower future generations and drive innovation.

Science Classroom

Science Classroom activity for primary school students to learn science through fun experiments and the opportunity for students to learn Mitsubishi Electric key technologies to create the love for science knowledge for future innovation. Science Classroom activity is conducted by host company rotating each year and in 2025 Mitsubishi Electric Consumer Products (Thailand) in collaboration with Siam Compressor Industry welcomed 70 primary 5-6th students from Piboonbumpen Demonstration School, Burapha University to promote learning in science and provide opportunities for enjoyable hands-on experiments, as part of giving back to the surrounding community.

Prateep Dek Thai Project

Prateep Dek Thai Project was founded in 1975 to build up Child Development Center for children of 2-6 years old for the preparation to develop physical and psychological for future education and to lessen the financial burden to parents who has no time to take care of children due to the necessity to work on daily basis. At Child Development Center, children will be taken care with nutritious food for physical development and meditation practice, social skill of living with others for the preparation for higher education and beneficial to their hometown development in the future.

The target is to build up 7,000 Child Development Centers in every Tambon (Subdistrict) all over Thailand. Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation in collaboration with Prateep Dek Thai Luangphor Viriyang Sirintharo Foundation to build Child Development Center for Children in up-country all-over Thailand with our hope to see smiles on children face as they happily grow up to be a quality person for Thai society. 

In 2025 support was provided for the construction of a Child Development Center at Don Nam Sai Witthaya School, Non Thai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.

Partnership School Project

Partnership School Project is student and community empowerment activity at school as a life learning center of the community where student learn to be an entrepreneur through agricultural simulation of business model from producer, marketing, accounting etc. The project aimed to create school as alternative form of education institutions where students and personnels focus not on numeral and literacy skills, but rather on life and occupational skills, which students and community utilize school in more dynamic aspect as life-long learning center. Therefore, students will develop occupational skills which each school can create curriculum customized to each own area’s expertise for self-employed and ability to earn living in own community and no necessity to leave for employment in big cities for the sustainable development of own community.

Supporting Japan Studies

The scholarship program for the Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology has been implemented since 2014 by Mitsubishi Electric Asia (Thailand). Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation, carrying forward this initiative and started donating scholarship for students enrolled in the Japanese for International Business (JIB) program under the Faculty of International Communication. The program aims to promote the study of the Japanese language and culture, strengthen the relationship between Thailand and Japan, and support academically outstanding students who are financially disadvantaged. In 2025, Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation awarded scholarships to second-year students in the Japanese for International Business (JIB) program, Faculty of International Communication, Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology. A total of 10 scholarships were granted, each valued at THB 20,000, amounting to an overall contribution of THB 200,000.

Disaster Relief

Humanitarian donation to support relief efforts for the Thai - Cambodian border crisis

Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation, represented by Mr. Shinji Teratani, Vice Chairman, graciously presented a donation of THB 100,000 to the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under Royal Patronage. The purpose of this contribution is to support and provide relief for those affected by the Thai - Cambodian border situation, as well as to express our deepest condolences to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation and to the families who lost their loved ones during this tragic event. We stand committed to joining hands with Thai society, driven by heartfelt hope for lasting peace and harmony. On this occasion, H.E. Privy Councillor Admiral Pongthep Nhuthep, Chairman of Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under Royal Patronage, graciously presided over the donation ceremony at the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under Royal Patronage office, with executives from the Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation in attendance to reaffirm our dedication to supporting Thai society.

Donation for severe flooding in Southern Thailand

Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation together with Mitsubishi Electric Group companies in Thailand, expressed deep concern for the people affected by the severe flooding in Southern Thailand, which has greatly impacted the lives and well-being of many communities. To provide assistance Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation and Mitsubishi Electric Group companies in Thailand donated THB 1,560,000 to the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under Royal Patronage to support relief operations, rehabilitation efforts, and the provision of essential consumer goods for flood victims in the affected areas. This initiative reflects the strong commitment of the Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation and Mitsubishi Electric Group companies in Thailand to stand alongside Thai society during times of crisis, helping to alleviate the hardships and supporting affected communities to return to normal life as quickly as possible.

Mitsubishi Elevator Asia Co., Ltd. (AMEC)

Blood Donation

Mitsubishi Elevator Asia had a blood donation activity in the factory. The company invited staff from Chonburi Hospital’s Blood Bank for the activity. Employees to joined around 100 this activity donate. All donated blood will be stored at the hospital’s blood bank to help patients.

Donate to Southern Thailand Flood Victims

Mitsubishi Elevator Asia brings all items donated by employees on 26 November 2025 to the food and supplies donation center for flood victims Southern Thailand, at Chonburi Province.

Mitsubishi Electric Consumer Products (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (MCP)

MCP Charity Run 2025 “Let’s Run For Giving”

Mitsubishi Electric Consumer Products (Thailand) in collaboration with Phan Thong Hospital, Chonburi Province, organized the “MCP Charity Run 2025: Let’s Run For Giving” charity walk–run event to promote employees’ health, unity, and strong workplace relationships. The event also served as part of the company’s CSR initiative to donate air conditioners to Phan Thong Hospital for the improvement of the special patient ward. The event welcomed more than 3,500 participants, and the company donated air conditioners valued at 150,000 THB to the hospital, in line with the intended purpose of the event.

Color the Dream with Our Team

Mitsubishi Electric Consumer Products (Thailand) organized the “Color the Dream with Our Team” CSR activity, in which management members and 54 new employees participated in painting the school building and improving the surrounding landscape at the Mab Pong Child Development Center, Mab Pong Subdistrict, Phan Thong District, Chonburi Province. This activity was carried out to help enhance learning facilities within the communities surrounding the company’s factory area, as well as to support a positive educational environment for the children of the company’s employees who begin their early education at this center.

Mitsubishi Electric Automation (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (MEATH)

Coloring Dreams for the Kids

Mitsubishi Electric Automation (Thailand) recognizes the importance of contributing to society and supporting learning opportunities for youth in underprivileged areas. Therefore, the company organized a CSR activity “Coloring Dreams for the Kids” with the participation of 50 employee volunteers. As part of this activity, the company donated essential items to the school and created a BBL (Brain-Based Learning) playground to provide children with an engaging and development-focused play area.

Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (MELFT)

Mitsubishi Electric Cup Automation Contest 2025

Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation (Thailand) cordially invites second and third year undergraduate students to apply for the MECA Challenge 2025, held under the theme “Creative Design for Sustainable Systems Engineering.” The competition aims to promote the design of future industrial systems that are environmentally friendly and aligned with sustainability goals. Participants will have the opportunity to compete for the Royal Trophy graciously bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and the winning team will represent Thailand in the MECA Global Competition in Japan in 2026. This competition provides students with a valuable opportunity to learn and apply Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation technologies, collaboratively solving engineering challenges through creative and sustainable system design. Through teamwork and hands-on engineering experience, participants will enhance their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and practical engineering skills, preparing them to become a new generation of engineers capable of driving the industry toward a sustainable future.

PIM Inter hackathon #5

Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation (Thailand) a key partner of the 5th PIM International Hackathon, has been actively driving decarbonization and digital transformation initiatives since 2020.
Let’s hear from Mr. Wichiene Ngamsukkarsemsri, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation (Thailand) as he shares the company’s vision and invites the next generation of innovators to take part in this year’s PIM International Hackathon. As a member of the Mitsubishi Electric Group in Thailand, Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation (Thailand) places sustainability at the heart of its corporate management. The Group is committed to addressing five key social challenges: Carbon Neutrality, Circular Economy, Safety & Security, Inclusion, and Well-being. These focus areas closely align with the mission of the PIM International Hackathon, which aims to foster green business models and innovation for a sustainable future. Through these initiatives, Mitsubishi Electric Group continues to create positive impacts for people, society, and the world.

Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (MET)

Hometown School Development Project

The Hometown School Development Project provides employees the opportunity to participate in the development of schools in their hometowns. Employees can nominate schools in need of improvements for student benefit. This year, Ban Phakhao Phon Phaeng School in Sakon Nakhon Province was selected. The project focused on constructing a library and computer room, funded by Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) and donations from its employees and business partners. The building was designed by students from INDA, the International Program in Design and Architecture, Chulalongkorn University. In addition, we provided educational equipment and supplies. Solar cells were installed in the new building to promote environmental friendliness and help reduce global warming. We also planted trees in the school area as part of our environmental initiative, "One Lift You Need, One Seed We Plant," which aims to support environmental conservation and expand green spaces. Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand), we sincerely hope to contribute to enhancing the quality of life for children and sending positive values in society for the future.

“One Lift You Need, One Seed We Plant”

Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) led by Mr. Katsuya Kawabata Managing Director of Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) together with the management team and staff, handed over Trumpet Trees at Hyde Park Garden Vibhavadi, a luxury single-house project, as part of the company’s CSR initiative “One Lift You Need, One Seed We Plant.” The activity aims to expand green spaces while reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability with every elevator delivered representing one more tree planted for a better world. Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) is deeply committed to environmental conservation alongside our business operations. Through our CSR initiative “One Lift You Need, One Seed We Plant”, we plant trees in proportion to our elevator sales, a meaningful symbol of our dedication to conducting business in harmony with the environment while maintaining a balance between innovation, technology, and sustainability.

Mitsubishi Electric Thai Auto-Parts Co., Ltd. (META)

International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025

On 30 November 2025, Mitsubishi Electric Thai Auto-Parts led by Mr. Yuji Funaba, Executive Vice President, together with employee representatives, presented donations to persons with disabilities (Ayutthaya Provincial Association of Persons with Disabilities) in celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025. The activity was held in Phak Hai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.

Mitsubishi Electric Kang Yong Watana Co., Ltd. (MKY)

The Giver Project (Wheelchair Donation)

Mitsubishi Electric Kang Yong Watana the official distributor of Mitsubishi Electric Mr. Slim air conditioners and high-quality Japanese standard home appliances, led by Mr. Toshiyuki Iizuka, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Electric Kang Yong Watana together with the management team and employee representatives, organized “The Giver Project” for the 8th consecutive year. The initiative provided essential items to people with disabilities in Saraburi Province to help improve their quality of life. Employees also contributed through voluntary donations to support the cause. This year’s donation included 50 wheelchairs, 50 Mitsubishi Electric fans, and 33 boxes of adult diapers, with a total value of 183,960 baht, delivered through the Saraburi Provincial Office of Social Development and Human Security.

Dual Vocational Education (Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Program)

The Dual Vocational Education Program (commencing in 2012) established partnerships via MOU with 6 technical colleges to enhance educational quality and provide students with essential practical experience. The program's core objective is to deliver social benefit through education while ensuring students receive direct, hands-on training for customer service roles. The 11-month curriculum is highly practical, totaling 1,840 hours of instruction (including 1,296 hours of on-the-job training in the Service Technician Department). Out of 148 participants, 21 graduates were subsequently hired by Mitsubishi Electric Kang Yong Watana. The experience prepares all graduates for further study at the bachelor's level, employment at electrical appliance sales or repair shops, or pursuing personal entrepreneurial ventures.

Siam Compressor Industry Co., Ltd. (SCI)

The CSR activity for supporting underprivileged groups: Coloring Dreams, Cool Vibe Sharing.

Siam Compressor Industry organized an activity to repaint the activity area and donated as well as installed fans at the Banglamung Home for Boys. The goal is to give the children a better space to do activities, learn new skills, exercise, and relax comfortably. This time, the company donated 6 industrial fans a total price of 19,200 THB and received 5 wall-mounted fans from Kang Yong Electric. The improvement of this area reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the community and creating a safe, comfortable, and sustainable environment for children.

The Laem Chabang Mangrove Forest Conservation Project: The Heritage Preservation Bridge

Siam Compressor Industry supported the construction of a wooden bridge for conservation and public use at the Ban Laem Chabang mangrove forest, which is located near the company. The bridge helps monks, local residents, and students cross the stream safely and makes it easier for people to access the community’s conservation area. This project also supports mangrove ecosystem conservation, raises environmental awareness, and encourages learning about natural resources for the local community. It is a joint effort between the company, local authorities, and residents, working together to improve the community and create long-term, sustainable benefits for both quality of life and the environment.

Kang Yong Electric Public Co., Ltd. (KYE)

Big Cleaning Day 2025

On Saturday, 20 September 2025, the company organized the “Big Cleaning Day 2025” activity, led by Mr. Keiji Oya President of Kang Yong Electric together with the management team and employee volunteers. The team worked together to clean and enhance the company’s surroundings, including painting curb edges, repainting the employee parking area fence, planting trees, and increasing green spaces within the premises. This activity aimed to promote public spirit, support the implementation of the 5S principles, encourage shared responsibility in maintaining common areas, and strengthen the company’s positive image. A total of 104 volunteers participated in the activity.

Kathin Ceremony 2025

On Saturday, 1 November 2025, the company organized the Annual Kathin Ceremony 2025, led by Mr. Keiji Oya President of Kang Yong Electric together with the management team and employees, in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric Kang Yong Watana the event aimed to uphold and preserve Buddhist traditions and provide an opportunity for the public to make merit in support of the renovation of the ordination hall of a temple with a history of over 260 years. The ceremony was held at Sri Rattana Ram Temple (Bang Phang Temple), Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province. The annual Kathin Ceremony is a long-standing activity that the company has continuously supported every year.
